Trentonian. I enjoy sci-fi, being outdoors, and being ordered about by calico cats. I work by the river.

My Wife: I’ve seen reports that bears are up and about. Time to bring in the feeder.

Me: Seems awfully early.

My Wife: You said that last year.

Me: I did? Ok, after the weekend.

My Wife: That’s EXACTLY what you said last year. And then when did the bear eat our feeder?

Me: Errr… like Monday night I think.

My Wife: No, it was Sunday morning.

Me: We’ll compromise. How about Saturday night?

SATURDAY, 6:30pm
Me: I took the feeder in. See, no bears.

10 minutes later…

“Hum-dee-dum, nothing to see here, just taking a stroll. Aw, no feeders? Darn”

I’m sorry to hear this. Good for you for pushing back! I hope you soon find a job that better respects your talents.

Could it be squirrels? They are very pesky here in New Jersey, and they will dig plants up.

Wut… Was the FO freed from the stairwell?

Canadian friends who drive: Transport Canada is soliciting feedback on ultra-bright vehicle headlights and headlight glare at night.

I encourage you to give them data on your experience, so that they might update the regulations to stop SUVs from routinely blinding me with their factory-fitted Nuclear Fireball 9000 LED Darkness Devastators Shock And Awe Edition headlights aimed directly into my face and eyes.

Canadian experience with vehicle headlights and glare at night

Transport Canada wants to learn how headlight glare affects road users and what vehicle or lighting features may influence how people experience it at night.

“Look, my lad, I know a dead parrot when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now.”

‘No no he's not dead, he's, he's restin'! Remarkable bird, the Norwegian Blue, idn'it, ay? Beautiful plumage!’

“The plumage don't enter into it. It's stone dead.”
