At least they did not slowly suffocate. I just wish we valued the lives of tens of thousands of refugees who did not voluntarily risk their own lives as much as we valued 5 wealthy Americans who did.

In Germany, teaching the Holocaust is mandatory.

It includes visits to concentration camp, museums, etc. They don't shy away from their own ugly history. Yet the kids aren't damaged; they're strengthened, matured, humbled. The U.S. needs to do same with slavery.

Not that complicated.

Right winger just said to me about guns, “Who are you to tell anyone what kind of gun they can own?” But it’s fine to tell parents what kind of healthcare they can give their kids, to criminalize women and doctors for healthcare that saves their lives. It’s fine to tell us what books we can read and what (gay) words we can say. 😂😂 Fucking hypocrites.
