Louise Haigh's (forced?) resignation raises an important issue about how we deal with past criminal offences.
At what point should offences not just be 'spent' but be discounted in subsequent life... while Haigh claims she was open about her conviction there are suggestions it was leaked to the press in an in-cabinet tussle?
But the bigger Q. is how long should those convicted of crime be associated with their wrong doing... and how that might differ depending on the type of crime?
