films, politics, fashion...thriving in chaos.
I usually don't have nightmares. I watched #thezoneofinterest last night and had haunting dreams about being chased by a group of people, because they were doing ritual killings, half through the dream I was not there anymore, but the acts of chase continued until I woke up... The chilling part was unnatural indifference.
And that stays with you even after the movie and Hรถss vomited all of his humanity on those stairs and went into the darkness.
Just saw John Oliver's "Prediction Markets" episode... There should be a trigger warning for stuff like this, something like "Dystopian and late stage capitalism capitalism with sociopath CEOs"
Because what the heck was that?!
This was quite the Erin Brockovich moment by AOC at a hearing on data centers.

Can we finally start talking about what has gone wrong in German society?
One rather depressing article about how Germany goes down the fascist road once again and how it's going to be "nie wieder" - again in several years from now.

Germany's far-right AfD vows to 'make history'

The AfD looks set to take power in a German state for the first time. In a DW exclusive, the front-runner in Saxony-Anhalt discusses plans to detain immigrants and revamp the school system, and relations with Russia.

Amazing post I came across today, while reading about Meta layoffs basically says how workers unknowingly trained AI and all along Zuckerberg kept his employees in the dark: the high performers were used for training AI and this was not about their performance. But about greed and funding AI ventures.
Also, why are people around the globe still using Meta tools?!
#layoffs #leavemeta
If someone complains that movies nowadays are boring, too politically correct and soulless, I suggest they watch Brazilian "Secret Agent" with Wagner Moura. Just a beautifully crafted and edited story that puts you right there, in Recife...in someone's nightmare.
Am I the only one absolutely stunned how much Kate Blanchett, Sandra Hรผller and Kirsten Dunst look alike?! Not only they are all amazing actresses, but it would be awesome if they could play sisters in movie!
Someone make the film adaptation of "Three Sisters" by Anton Chekhov, please!
Also, all of them share the same horoscope sign ๐Ÿ’ซ (with Sandra and Kirsten even sharing the birthday!)
I can start with @ecosia ๐ŸŒฑ It's a search engine whose profits are used to pursue environmental goals. I like the fact that it gives me accurate search results - if you're looking for articles and facts that aren't coming with sponsored and irrelevant ๐Ÿ’ฉ - then Ecosia is your friend.
Instead of making #boycott lists, I want to find the good examples of sustainable business practices: which companies are "making it work" without mass lay offs because of AI? Which ones are not cracking down unions or work councils, massively exploiting and breaking labour laws?
Let's see more positive examples!
@dielinke following up the topic of Jadar and Lithium mining in Serbia ๐Ÿ€ "However, this step does not constitute a definitive cancellation of the project, as Rio Tinto also emphasized. The planned mining of lithium and boron in the Jadar Valley has faced strong opposition from the local population since exploration activities began"
