Every fucking time

- A YouTube short appears on the screen and starts playing.

- Because of the inexplicable way YouTube shorts is designed, the short is slightly taller than my screen.

- Before my conscious thought even has a chance to get involved, I reflexively tick my mousewheel down one tick to center this video on my screen.

- Because YouTube shorts interprets ANY attempt to scroll as "show me the next video", the short I was trying to watch flies completely off screen and is replaced

If you wanna opt out of politics it's easy...simply do not take part. No one will care, on account of Who Gets What.

Now, the depression that comes with being Exposed To Politics

@JeremyMallin true... Ever since I entertained the idea of having autism I recognized how much of the things I found nice about Mastodon, which included the understanding community of like-minded folx, were a direct result of neurodivergence.

At the beginning of this year I was diagnosed with autism, which explained a lot of things, including my autistic burn-outs.

I love Mastodon because it's so inclusive. It may not be why I came, but that's why I stuck.

@ErikUden I recently listened to an audiobook of some P.G. Wodehouse stories. "The Secret Pleasures of Reginald" captures this well. It's quite short, so you'll have plenty of time for not doing other things.

Project Gutenberg has it among their collections of Wodehouse.
