Hi, I’m Grahame - G6MZK. Licensed since 1982. qth is Folkestone JO01oc. I’m currently using a Yaesu FT-991A into a simple 2m/70cm halo loop (HLP270). My hf antenna is a WD330s at about 5meters agl.
I’m also a runner, and an allotment gardener.
@M0PWX yeah, but it’s all relative innit. North is north.
Long, long time ago I heard a tale that Maidstone FC were at home playing Reading. MFC fans started chanting “Go home you northern ba****ds”.
Happy new year.
@M0PWX serves you right for living so close to the North Pole. :)
@M0KHR good music can do that.
I wondered about the AI thing, but the onboard computer for the Seestar, from what I can gather, is a Pi4 (or close equivalent). So not much super-computing going on there, and you can get the same results from the telescope when off-line. So I’m pretty comfortable believing the picture I get is what I took.
@dtl I doubt the script or the dog would get as much enjoyment out of it as we do though.
@corpsmoderne @Grahame Wow. I like that, in an odd sort of way. It’s a neat clip and a great demonstration of the problem.
@corpsmoderne Hmm. Cube seats are only a 10cm cube, but it’s likely to be only 200km away. Just a wee bit closer than your target. I have found that it’s quite rare not to get at least one satellite cross a frame.
@M0KHR I got the Seestar S50, a smart telescope. It’s a great bit of kit and a lot of fun. It’s even prompted me to get my old 127mm reflector out again.
Wx rubbish again for a few days now. Perhaps a chance to get your scope out again by the end of the week.
@M0KHR yeah, that was me. Sorry ‘bout that.
There’s too many clouds these days; ‘specially since I bought this nice new telescope. 🌠
@M0KHR well done. I did see your reports on WSPR watch. I only managed to monitor for 90 mins before going out again, but hadn’t heard you. Back again now might have a tx myself, just to see what happens. Never had much joy on 10metres, WSPR or ft4/8.
