From "too small for this gear" to "too big for this gear" πŸ˜…

I'll see if I can do something for this background after some sleep...

Another try at processing last night data (there will be more πŸ˜… )

Going through each capture frame by frame and... Look at this b*d m*fker 😀

trying to find the culprit in Stellarium, the only candidates are labelled "cubsat", that looks very bright for just a cubesat to me... πŸ€”

@corpsmoderne Hmm. Cube seats are only a 10cm cube, but it’s likely to be only 200km away. Just a wee bit closer than your target. I have found that it’s quite rare not to get at least one satellite cross a frame.

@Grahame yeah really common as shown in this video of me just a couple of days ago (same gear so same conditions). Almost every other frame has a streak 😀

Attached: 1 image And as a making-of, all the 482 frames with a smol processing but before registration (alignment). The drift and jumps are caused by the motorized mount which is not perfectly following the target. And yes, each streak, and everything moving is a satellite (most of them Starlinks πŸ’€ ) ( more about that here : https://mathstodon.xyz/@johncarlosbaez/114765857000929713 ) #astrophotography #astronomy #astronomie #astrophotographie

@corpsmoderne @Grahame Wow. I like that, in an odd sort of way. It’s a neat clip and a great demonstration of the problem.
