Hi, I’m Grahame - G6MZK. Licensed since 1982. qth is Folkestone JO01oc. I’m currently using a Yaesu FT-991A into a simple 2m/70cm halo loop (HLP270). My hf antenna is a WD330s at about 5meters agl.
I’m also a runner, and an allotment gardener.
My first attempt at using my camera on the telescope. Finally bought the adapters a few days ago, and it was clearish yesterday evening. Obviously I have work to do. As is clear, getting it focussed seems trickier than I anticipated and I’m not used to using the camera in full manual mode or in the dark. But, hey, it worked.
Hi, I’m hoping someone can point me towards a fix for setting up CAT for Yaesu FT-991a on an m4 Mac mini. I’m a complete Mac newbie so struggling a bit. The Uart controller is found ok, but driver install just hangs and no comm ports are created. Seems to be a common enough problem on various forums, but no real answer found yet.
The latest driver is 3 years old so is it simply for compatible with the new M4 hardware?
Any pointers greatly appreciated.
Grahame
A few days ago I saw a YouTube video about a new firmware upgrade for the Yaesu FT991A. I checked the Yaesu website, and sure enough, there is was. I thought I’ll come back to that later, but now it’s gone from the website. I’m assuming it’s been withdrawn, possibly because of problems with it. A quick web search hasn’t revealed anything so wondered if anyone had heard any about it.
Hi all, I’m Grahame G6MZK I’ve been licensed since around 1989, but I’m not really a very active ham, I rx much more than tx. My qth is Folkestone on the Kent coast, JO01oc. Currently active on 2m & 70cm only, mainly FT8, as my hf antenna is down due to building work on the house. Hope to have the scaffold down soon.
