The dept of defense has finally ordered a review of the medals of honor awarded for the 1890 Wounded Knee Massacre.
A panel will determine whether or not to rescind the medals on an individual basis. The report is due mid October.
The Wounded Knee Massacre killed approximately 300 Lakota men, women, and children who were then dumped and buried in a mass grave. Some women and children had been chased down almost 2 miles before being slaughtered.
