Happy 2024.
Happy 2024. Live forever.

An abolitionist designed the statue. A group of abolitionists paid for the statue. There's a plaque at the feet telling everyone what it's for. They named it the Statue of Liberty. It's arguably the largest anti-racism monument in the US, and the most recognizable anti-racism monument in the world...

Except people don't even know it's an anti-racism monument. They think it celebrates the huge influx of white immigrants from Europe that came to the US.

Rounded out 2023 with a hike at Musser Gap Trail in central PA. Some nice water features with a little elevation and interesting forest type changes.

Distance: 3.5 mi
Elev. gain: 740 ft

Judge Luttig: Trump eligibility case ‘tests America’s commitment to its own democracy’

Judge J. Michael Luttig, one of the early proponents of the case for disqualifying Trump under the 14th Amendment, joins Ali Velshi to share his reaction to the “historic” decision from the Colorado Supreme Court, what comes next, and to debunk common misconceptions the American public has about the ruling and its significance. “I think it’s crystal clear, or it will be crystal clear, to the American public that it’s the Constitution of the United States that's disqualifying the former president from higher office… not Joe Biden,” he explains. “That’s why I’ve said this case tests America’s commitment to its own democracy, the Constitution, and the rule of law."
