I make maps, and I grow things.

Hi geospatial fam! Really glad to see the great response following the opening of mapstodon.space. We are now 165 - and counting! A warm welcome to everyone, especially those who discover Mastodon.

The costs of running the server are now 29$/month. If you fancy supporting it, I set up a page on Patreon here: https://patreon.com/jeremygarniaux. Every cent is welcome. NB: Patreon works with subscription plans, if you want to give once, you'll have to cancel your subscription after.

Thank you all!

"The Peripheral" on Amazon is pretty good.
I'm hooked.

Here's a fairly silly map for #30DaysMapChallenge. If you have a craving for crustaceans in my part of the world, there is no shortage of places to satisfy it. #gischat
I added a new page to my website to feature all my #30DayMapChallenge maps as well as highlight data sources and describe my workflows. http://pokateomaps.com/30daymapchallenge22

Going to say this here and over there.
I've followed 84 people on my mastodon account.
The level of engagement is equal or better here than it is over there.
I don't think I'd miss twitter if I were to nuke my account.
This happened in less than a week.

#Introduction

Hello. I'm a spatial dev living in Northumberland, England. I love cartography, but know more about webmapping.

I built qgis2web, but after an initial few years of intense development, have let it fall by the wayside.

Please forgive occasional toots on my disastrous attempts to play pool, thoughts on films you've all already seen, and perhaps more edifying pictures of the natural world.

This is a crazy number.
That's a 48.7% increase in one week.
Is it any wonder things got bogged down a little bit?
But in the end, it was handled well.

@FediFollows I would like to be added under your "maps" category and would suggest an additional category of geographic information systems (or geospatial) for me and many of my followers!
