Wandering through this thing called life and learning everything I can long the way.

Wichita Reflections - a few photos taken on a layover run when the light was flattering and the water was amazingly still.

Getting close to peak fall colors here in the middle of the mitten.

Happy the rain let up for a bit so I could get my drone up before the leaves all fell for the season.

Big day for me today. For the first time since my race on July 19, I was on a mountain bike in the woods.

It has been an adventure and I am glad to have that chapter closed and happy to be back on a bike in the woods.

Sunset Stroll

Growing up in a small town, I never thought going to the beach to watch the sunset was a big deal.

As an adult, living an hour and a half from that town, I cherish the moments I have when we are able to just sit on the beach, listen to the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore, and enjoy the beauty of the sun disappearing into the water.

Temps are a bit warmer than normal in the mitten. Taking advantage of them and sitting around a fire on our deck with my wife. Enjoying the weather while we can before the rain turns into that four letter word that is the white stuff that falls from the sky and sticks around for a while.

Breaking, new, by me:

Self-replicating "Shai-Hulud" worm hits 180+ Software Packages

At least 187 code packages made available through the JavaScript repository NPM have been infected with a self-replicating worm that steals credentials from developers and publishes those secrets on GitHub, experts warn. The malware, which briefly infected multiple code packages from the security vendor CrowdStrike, steals and publishes even more credentials every time an infected package is installed.

Check out the flames framing the neighbor’s windows!

Enjoying some evening outdoors while the weather still allows.

Four weeks to the day from when I had a funny tingling on my shoulder blade around to my pec. Went to be seen by a professional to make sure it wasn’t my heart. Took her two seconds to tell me I had shingles.

Four weeks later, the pain is mostly gone, but random nerve pain pops up, especially as the day goes on.

I am now a very strong advocate for getting the shingles vaccine when one is able to do so.

Here are some photos from this morning’s #gravel ride.

Time to rebuild my fitness.

Rebuilding, once slice of humble pie at a time.

Slowly working on rebuilding fitness. Tomorrow marks week 4 since shingles decided to show up... today was rebuild run #2. Easy 4 miles and I was able to manage my heartrate... only change is I am running about 2 minutes/mile slower than I was six weeks ago... but I am happy to be able to be outside! Also thankful for the base I had built up over time.
