"Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before,"
"He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way."

Ok, pretending to be deep for strangers part out of the way. I like vidyagames. Mostly old ones. Not very good at them.

Few more days before my instance goes away. Still trying to talk myself into hosting my own, but scared of config (security) and don't have a domain. I did a proof of concept a while back and it worked within my network via IP.

So there's a good chance I'll just disappear for quite a while.

After many years in storage bins, I finally carved out a place in the basement for my NES. I've had this for about 35 years. At one point during the last 90s/early 2000s, I had over 100 games because I kept getting them for like $1 at flea markets and the like. It's slowly shrank over the years. This is about the point where there's nothing left I'm willing to part with. For everything else, there's an Everdrive.

"I'll give you the BELT!"
"Grandpa, how many belts are you wearing?"
"SEVEN!"
"That's six too many... No that's seven too many, you're wearing sweatpants!"
Another bit I always forget.
Not just a more obscure movie, but kind of a unmemorable throwaway line that doesn't stand out, so easy for even fans to forget.

Super obscure movie quote, bet no one can get it without searching the Internet, and even then may be a struggle.

"This duck loves Lucy"

And since mastodon.social is the flagship instance, which sets the moral example - and the workaday template - for most instances in the Fediverse, this catastrophically bad clause is likely to proliferate far and wide throughout the Fediverse, rendering most of this new, better internet unfit for use.

Please, @Gargron, reconsider this. It is a very bad look - and worse still, it's a very, very bad example.
