@halva Windows is generally where a lot of software is supported so a lot of people take it, and people on the Linux desktop side tend to have an unhealthy parasocial relationship with their desktop which leads to more drama when things don't go their way (see also: systemd DOB field)

@halva WinUI in general on 11 is slow as hell. I don't know how Apple can render Liquid Glass and have it feel faster than Windows which does less eyecandy-wise yet is slower.

Got a Brita water filter bottle to try and help me drink more water and holy shit, I can actually drink tap water now.

The tap water over here tastes fucking weird to the point where I would buy bottled. I got this with 2 filters for £10 and it's already worth it.

Over on Blacksky, they've gone and replaced the regular Bluesky moderation tool (Ozone) with their own system and it looks so cool. I will never have to deal with this, but it's nice that there's an empathetic and community-based approach to moderation tooling like this.

Fedi could learn so much from this lol, from what I have heard and know of AP, moderating on the fediverse is a fucking nightmare and turned me off from ever self-hosting a fedi instance.

@Apolly0n Same. My post was mainly about Linux users having to actually think about what display server they're using to make sure they'll get the best performance (or compatibility, even) being a huge plus for Windows, where you don't have to think about it, well, at all.

Funnily enough, the fractional scaling stuff I mentioned a little while ago plays into this as well since X11 has better compatibility but good luck if you have a 27-inch 4K display.
