4: Spoon in about 3-4 tablespoons of rice, then crimp the sides of the dough as shown. It takes a bit of practice, don’t worry too much about it.
5: Brush on some melted butter and bake at 450 for 15 minutes.
6: Immediately out of the oven, brush them again with butter and cover with a towel or foil to keep moist. Can be served with egg butter. Freezes well.
2: Make a crust (1 cup water, 1.5 cup wheat flour, 1.5 cup rye flour, some butter and salt). Knead until smooth. It’s denser than a wheat bread dough so add a few tablespoons of water if needed.
