I'm blind, a christian, 47 years old, and live in missouri with my spouse and our two cats. I probably have ADHD though haven't gotten tested yet. A Chipmunk, a Groundhog and a Squirrel walk into a backyard… And then they eat what’s not protected by a baffle 😜. I’m feeding birds, so there are naturally also critters around that benefit from what’s fallen to the ground or what’s offered when I try to get photos of the Cardi babies. They all look friendly and deserve their own portraits every so often too. Have a happy Saturday!

good lord. I pulled a microSD card out of a Raspi inside an IoT product and it appears they had some developer use a raspi to develop/test some software, and then they just yanked the SD card out of that machine and duped it on to all of their deployed products.

it's got .bash_history of the development process! there's git checkouts of private repos! WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?

Lol what... Doordash really should have had someone proofread their accessibility statement.

"We take customer obsession and accessibility of our websites very seriously and are committed to meeting the needs of our Consumers,"

Somehow I doubt "obsession" is what they meant, but I can't think of what word they would have actually been looking for.

Hmm. My tweesecake is refusing to update past 1.72.

ADHD'ers get a bad reputation for interrupting people, but can I just make it clear that we interrupt ourselves too.

I can't even get the full thought out of my head before my brain is like "actually, if we just..."

Canadian here so bear with me because I don’t fully understand US gun laws (nor do I understand their attachment TO guns).

What I do know is whenever there’s a mass shooting someone will bring up stricter gun control and the Right wing gun lovers shout “my freedom! You can’t take away my right to protect myself!”

Yet we are seeing a U.S. State attempt to criminalize the wearing of medical masks in all public spaces. Something that is quite literally “personal protective tool”. Why doesn’t our freedom to protect ourselves from infection as much as their freedom to carry a gun?

I can’t see any scenario where someone else would be harmed by an N95 - the same is NOT true for any gun. Yet one is being criminalized and the other isn’t.

I sincerely hope we start hearing more people speak out against criminalizing medical masks if for no other reason than the violation of freedom and bodily autonomy. You don’t have to care about Covid to understand that some people need to wear masks.

It is a very sad example of the state of the world when a person can walk into a pharmacy or grocery store with a gun - but not wearing a medical respirator DURING A PANDEMIC

I’m immune compromised - would you mask for me?

“No! Stay home forever!”

I can’t stay home I need food - can I order in?

“Do it yourself! It’s entitled and privileged to get delivery! SURELY you can use a microwave!”

I’ve got a family member to help me.

“Don’t be a burden!”

I need the hospital so I’m going to wear a respirator.

“Haha that’s illegal now!”

This is genuinely how it feels to be a high risk disabled person in society right now. It’s not enough that the loudest voices won and governments basically dismantled all covid protections, reporting tools, testing etc… they still scream at us for trying to protect ourselves. We stay home and rely on gig economy & delivery services and we’re exploiting others. We ask people to mask and we’re tyrants. We try to mask ourselves and we’re mocked and teased and now at least one US State is actively trying to criminalize medical masks.

Yet whenever I bring up eugenics I’m shouted down and told I’m exaggerating - despite the fact that a large portion of society very clearly doesn’t want disabled people to survive (and they certainly won’t lift a finger to help us).

It feels terribly bleak and I wish the “my freedom” crowd would recognize that disabled people are the canaries in the coal mine. Governments won’t stop with us. We’re just unlucky enough to be first.

I realize I'm touching on a bit of a sensitive subject here, but. Verbal, emotional, and mental abuse are just as real as physical abuse. They aren't less valid, they shouldn't be minimized, they're not less impactful. Abuse is abuse. Any form of abuse is wrong, and that includes emotional and verbal abuse. There's no excuse. Nobody deserves any of it. Stop minimizing this. Abuse is wrong and so, so harmful regardless of what forms it takes. Everyone deserves to feel safe and secure in their relationships. It's okay to reach out for help. For anyone who needs to hear it, anything that's happened is not your fault. So many people's situations are overlooked and I think that needs to change.

Regarding Zoom. I run two Email lists relating to Zoom conferencing and on those lists, I expressed my frustration as to this horrible calendar interface for setting up meetings. Fortunately, a contributor came to my assistance. I applied his solution and everything is back to the way it was. This is what he says. While the changes to the Zoom user interface are certainly frustrating, there is a way to return the interface to how it was before the recent update.
This involves unmerging the Meeting and Calendar tabs as follows:

1.  Go to the
Zoom.us
website in your browser, and sign into your account.
2.  Once you have signed into your account, go to Settings > Meeting > In Meeting Advanced.
3.  Here you will find a heading labeled Merge Meetings and Calendar Tab, with a toggle to unmerge the tabs, and restore the interface to as it was before
the recent update.

I deal with 3 different Zoom accounts on an almost daily basis, and have followed the above instructions to restore each of these accounts back to how
they were before the update.
