Los fundamentos de la AutoDefensa Sanitaria se basan en una postura antifascista y anticapitalista en la lucha contra la eugenesia. No se trata solo de “llevar una mascarillas”, sino de combatir todas las formas de violencia. Para nosotros, el análisis político es necesario porque, si no comprendemos la política de la discapacidad, estamos condenados a culpar a los oprimidos de las opresiones que sufren.

Este es un grupo con un enfoque compasivo y radical. Ya existen suficientes grupos que avergüenzan a quienes no usan mascarilla y culpan a los oprimidos por su opresión. Este no es uno de esos grupos.

"Creemos en la humanidad. No es cierto que la mayoría de las personas sean egoístas, malas, estúpidas, ignorantes o renuentes a aprender. La mayoría de las personas no saben lo que está sucediendo, o se sienten impotentes para detenerlo, o ambas cosas.

Una gran mayoría de las personas que han dejado de tomar precauciones contra el Covid lo han hecho porque han sido engañadas, porque están agotadas y porque estamos en un vacío de información.

Estamos pidiendo esencialmente a las personas que desconfíen de las decisiones y evaluaciones de todos los que les rodean, así como de lo que sus ojos y oídos les están diciendo. Les estamos pidiendo que se den cuenta de que su antigua vida ha desaparecido para siempre. Esto es pedir mucho. Es la mayor petición posible. Además, la gente no puede entender cómo podría ser cierto.

Tenemos que encontrar una manera de construir una rampa de acceso, de "integrar" a las personas en esta realidad a la que todos nos hemos acostumbrado tanto. Tenemos que recordar que estamos pidiendo mucho. Todo esto nos parece normal ahora, y nos hemos acostumbrado (de alguna manera). Nuestras mitigaciones reflejan la verdad, y son las cosas correctas que hacer. Pero estamos pidiendo a las personas que cambien sus vidas enteras de una manera muy seria. Ya no se trata solo de mascarillas, en este punto. Es todo."

The foundations of Health Self-Defense are based on an anti-fascist and anti-capitalist stance in the fight against eugenics. It's not just about "wearing a mask" but about fighting against all forms of violence. For us, a political analysis is necessary because if we don't understand the politics of disability, we are condemned to blame the oppressed for the oppressions they suffer.

-This is a group with a compassionate and radical approach to COVID. There are already enough groups that shame people for not wearing masks and blame the oppressed for being oppressed. This is not one of those groups.

"We believe in humanity. It is not true that most people are selfish, bad, stupid, ignorant, or unwilling to learn. Most people do not know what is going on, or feel powerless to stop it, or both.

A great majority of people who have stopped taking Covid precautions have done so because they have been misled, because they are exhausted, and because we are in an information vacuum. Governments are downplaying Covid’s continued existence and evolution.

We are asking people, essentially, to distrust the choices and assessments of everyone around them, as well as what their eyes and ears are telling them. We are asking them to realize their old life is gone forever. This is a huge ask. It is the hugest possible ask. On top of that, people cannot fathom how it could be true.

We have to find a way to build an on-ramp, to essentially “onboard” people into this reality we’ve all gotten so used to. We have to remember that we are asking a lot. All of this is normal to us now, and we’ve gotten acclimated (somehow). Our mitigations reflect the truth, and they are the right things to do. But we are asking people to change their entire lives in a very serious way. It’s not just masks, at this point. It’s everything."
