@[email protected] also, you might want to try a different knitting style to see if that alleviates things. I often swap between Norwegian, continental and so on depending on the project. I notice that each one makes me hold tension in different parts of my body so it's good to try mixing it up if possible (I realise not everyone likes knitting in a different style or indeed wants to swap between them!)
@[email protected] Hello! I find that a number of things help: circulars to distribute the weight, knitting patterns that are worked in the round can help as there is less stop/start, square needles are helpful for requiring less grip to hold them, and finally swapping to a good quality wood or bamboo needles. @valhalla my focus is earlier so I don't have much first hand experience, and I realise my link was not the right one! Still, lots of textiles for personal making in London in the early 1900s so MofL might still be a good place to find stuff out.
@valhalla I have only come across knit fabrics within lists of materials used in an object. For example https://collections.museumoflondon.org.uk/online/object/287369.html I imagine the wonderful dress and textiles people at The Museum of London might have information (in case you haven't already contacted them)
