Anarchism that isn't rooted firmly in class struggle is both useless in practical terms, and ideologically incoherent. Class hierarchies are the fundamental hierarchies that govern and support all other non-consensual hierarchies. #ClassStruggle #Anarchism

Destroying capitalism will not automatically end all other oppression.

But good luck getting rid of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism etc. without getting rid of capitalism.

Capitalism has specific uses for all of those things and is not going to let them go.

It's wild that journalists loved Twitter. I think because it helped them feel like they were connected to the populace and learning about what people cared about.

But in reality, journos were being manipulated by the algorithm. Some journalists talked about that a lot, but maybe that never made it through to the mainstream journalists' feeds...

The "popularity" of Trump, the Republican party, and the constant Red Wave narratives all come from the Twitter algorithm. Not reality. But journos boosted those narratives in their stories because that's what they read from the algorithm that was designed to feed them the most outrageous stories.

The journalistic hubris here, in spite of the yelling done by many, is what I hope will be highlighted and corrected for. But I'm not holding my breath.

If you’re new to Mastodon, you may at some point find that you’re being pressured to put your posts behind a content warning (CW). Although CWs make sense for things like images of violence or nudity, some people are bullying others to put CWs on discussions of politics, racism, etc.
Please know that you should not feel pressured to obey these individuals. They do not speak for all. If someone does not want to be exposed to these topics, Mastodon gives them all the tools they need to avoid them, such as keyword filters and the ability to block or mute people who are posting things they don’t like.

Air pollution high at US public schools with kids from marginalized groups, new study finds

Race- and ethnicity-based discrepancies in exposure to air pollution, especially regarding proximity to roadways and industrial zones, are well-established. A new study reports the first nationwide patterns in atmospheric fine particulate pollution and nitrogen dioxide exposure at U.S. public schools.

@chadloder it makes no sense. He couldn't effort to buy it and needed loans of all sort. I think The Musk is just unwell mentally & degrading. He will be remembered as the man who got insane and destroyed $44B within weeks all by himself.
if Henry Kissinger outlives Twitter i'll lose my shit
love the whole system and everything but "fediverse" sounds like a dating app for FBI agents

All of this has happened before, and it will all happen again.

Back in The Day, there was only one Internet Relay Chat (IRC) network. We referred to it as "IRC" because beyond a few small independent servers there was only one network, run by volunteers. Wikipedia says it was called Anarchy Net by some people. To join a server to the IRC network, one convinced the admin of an existing server to allow connection.

nothing I aspire to more than "finally finding a label I identify with". I think if this happened i would be immediately fulfilled + all my problems solved. discovering the inner truth of my soul on a forum >>>
