If you are an American married woman (or any gender person who has changed their surname legally) you need to be aware of this NOW. You may lose your right to vote if you don’t prepare. https://www.glamour.com/story/save-act-could-stop-millions-women-voting

Not an exaggeration, not hyperbole. Millions of people, mostly women, turned away to vote.

The SAVE Act, Which Could Stop Millions of Women From Voting, Just Passed in the House

The SAVE Act in Congress and its potential impact on women and other marginalized groups—a detailed explainer.

Maybe Lobo has also said "basticha". I haven't seen it, but I haven't read all the Lobo stuff. Apparently the word is simultaneously a combo of two curses words, a way for the character to curse without actually cursing, and the name of Lobo's previous employer. It literally has a comic book origin story!

It looks like the Czarnian language is gendered. The DC Comics character Lobo usually says "bastich". But in this case, a female character is being addressed and the word changes to "basticha".

So the plural of Sabertooth is Saberteeth and not Sabertooths for the character in Marvel comics. I think I like the latter over the former but I can't say why.

Just kidding. Love you, Batman 😘
I cannot believe we've had 14 Spider-Man movies and eleventy-seven Batman movies, but not a single movie starring FERO: PLANET DETECTIVE. Lookit this story! Scientist of the occult? Vampires AND werewolves? From Pluto? Sign me up! #Comics (story and art by Al Bryant, 1940)

The recording is online! Dr. Megan Figueroa gave us an amazing talk and you should go check it out! It's called "Racism in the Field of Language Development: Evidence from the US". The slides and subtitles are available too!

There's a window on a busy street in Helsinki where someone has written an apparent quote from Jesus. The Finnish is "Usko minua" which translates to "Believe me" not "Believe *in* me". This always makes me smile because I imagine a Bible passage that reads "And lo, Jesus said unto them, 'Trust me, bro'."
