Late-diagnosed #ActuallyAutistic. Finally at home with my herd.
A zebra isn't a horse with a disorder - drop the 'D' from the Spectrum.
It's interesting to hear everyone's different experiences. Those birthdays with a zero are often a time of soul searching I think. Glad you got there a little faster than I did :)
Oh wow! I had been learning about autism for years, but it wasn't until learning from #ActuallyAutistic adults that I finally started to learn what is really means to be autistic. There are so many of us awakening. I'm convinced the true number of us is huge!

I'm curious about how old you were, the first time you remember having a thought along the lines of 'I wonder if I might be autistic'?
And when did you know you were?

7 years for me, from 30-37.

#AskingAutistics - Do you find it hard to answer questions about your *favourite* xyz? (Unless the question happens to be your #AutisticAreaOfExpertise, of course!)

I have to fill out a sheet of 'fun facts' about myself, to be shared with all colleagues at my new job. 6 questions, which are likely to take me as many hours to answer 🤦‍♀️

I'm wondering if longer-term Fediverse people are concerned about the influx of new people...
Are you worried about things changing? Are there any conventions it's important for us to respect?

#AskingAutistics - how many of you are already here?

I'm tentatively testing the waters, like so many people, fearing what the future holds over on the bird app. I'd found such a ruddy beautiful community of #ActuallyAutistic peeps there and feel like I've started at a new school and am desperately looking around for familiar (friendly) faces!
