🌍 A world in need of Verifiable Credentials: Revealing the problem 🚨‼️
From documents like diplomas and licences to products or labels on food and beverage packaging, there are many claims in our world that need verifying every day. The problem is, the current verification processes can be lengthy and unreliable, resulting in false claims slipping through the cracks. This can lead to serious problems: counterfeit products, stolen or lost documents, falsified product labels, and more. 😬
This is because in the form of physical credentials, these kinds of documents can be pretty easy to fake. As a result, just trying to obtain or prove basic information about yourself can involve administrative nightmares and lengthy wait times. For example, if a potential employer were in doubt about the authenticity of your diploma, they would need to contact the university to confirm that they indeed issued it. ✅
