I wanted to record a South African airport announcement for today's #AudioMo as I'm traveling.

There is a bit of general airport ambiance before the announcement happens.

I just left my childhood home for what may very possibly be the last time. My heart is breaking quietly in the back of this uber. I feel so conflicted, because I'm so glad I'm going back to people I love, and things I love to do, but holy shit it hurts. Like, it really hurts. And I keep telling myself I shouldn't be sad. I shouldn't feel this. It's ok, and it will be ok, and everything will work out as it should. But at the end of the day, I can't picture another house for my family. I can't picture another place we call home. And I will be very, very lucky if I come back to this one at all.
hay UK blind folks: Anyone having issues with the JustEat app, they fixed the broken menu reading thing in the latest update just posted today. Go update and it should unfuck itself
The funny thing about all of this, was that - as of posting this - I hadn't heard this bird for months. Then today, I briefly did. And it felt like a sign. Everything comes back around.
Brioche has no right to exist. It's too sweet for a bread. Too dense for a pastry. And too bland for a cake.
@Bermudianbrit hey, this was the one where we both double tapped to end our respective recordings at the same time. It just made me laugh and I wanted to acknowledge that, because it was funny and I don't think we'll ever get that right again.

A few days ago for #AudioMo I posted a recording of a single bird and said I didn't know if I had the recording of the mating pair... But I do!!

I think this is particularly fascinating. The one bird sings an interval of (almost) a fifth, and the other does an approximation of the teeth kissing sound in some cultures used to express disdain, but it sounds so cute, I can't bring myself to make that association with anything other than a smile.

On a drunken evening when younger I scanned, photoshopped, and printed every picture in my parents' house. Gave my sister an extra finger, snuck Steve Buscemi into graduation photos, changed Grandpa's eye colour, etc. Took over a year for them to notice, and still some remain.
I was told during my work appraisal that the quality of my recent written work is testament to how much I've developed in my role. The truth is, writing erotic fanfiction and having a beta reader who gives thorough and constructive feedback is what's really made the difference.

#AudioMo for today comes from 12-year-old me who was, at the time, experiencing her last ever school choir practice, though she didn't know it then.
Though this song isn't great - we're kids and sound like it - it was a lot of fun to perform. I'm not sure what it's called, but as so many international choirs see fit to perform African music, I thought I'd show you it as it sounds slightly more authentically.

Lots of 3 part harmonies, clapping, marching on benches, etc. Yes, there are off notes, and I'm sorry for the pocket rustling, It couldn't be helped.
