I’m puzzled by two things. 1) when I joined Kolektiva.social I got an email that I follow the server’s admins by default. But when I drill down in settings or preferences or whatever claims to tell me who I’m following it’s the five people I selected. (I’ve been here 2 days, havven’t met many people, it’s okay.). And none of them are admins or even on Kolektiva. So ????
The second thing is when I start composing a post, down in the controls it says 10000. Um, ten thousand characters? And it counts down as I type. I’m pretty verbose, but none of my posts have been cut off at the knees or any other value. It’s at 600 characters right now — that is, the counter is 9302.. I’ve seen some people mention the short character limit, and some old hands string together a series of short posts. What is the deal there? I wanted to ask an admin, but, see previous paragraph, I’m having trouble identifying them. (Hmm I see some options off to the right here on Metatext…. @admin might get their attention even if I can’t find who they are. )
