I started to knit as a gentle way to wind down in the evenings but it took on a life of its own.

Also words, ideas, writing, reading, walking and fountain pens.

Particularly fond of the suffixes -smith and -wright.

I made a summary of the blogposts I wrote about clocks.

Here’s a summary of the blog posts I wrote elsewhere about my clocks.

i recently learned* this nice multi-signature booklet/zine binding technique that doesn’t require adhesive *or* sewing! you cut slits in the middle of each signature, make an accordion whose mountain folds fit through the slits, then secure each mountain by sliding a strip of paper through it on the inside of the signature

Everything is awful, time for more Small Cheering Things! Remember when the internet was full of silly pointless wonderful weirdnesses made by actual humans for no other reason than because it was a fun thing to share with the world? Turns out, much to my happy surprise, that many of them still exist! Please share your fave nostalgia nonsense! My suggestions in thread #SmallCheeringThings

One of the comments I particularly like:
"Thanks Clancy…..just quietly, I always reckon it’s a very fine idea to always have one bite left in you.
Keeps everyone on their toes."

I've seen a lot of "why not just join forces with Pixelfed" directed at Flashes

Pixelfed and Flashes are two very different projects.

Pixelfed is it's own platform with features like Stories, Collections and Portfolios.

Flashes is a UI around Bluesky/ATproto that filters out non-photo posts.

As our two platforms mature, the differences will become more prevalent.

That being said, you may soon see more of Pixelfed on Bluesky.

Stay tuned ✨

When I moved here from Twitter it was with a resolution to as much as possible post about things that make me happy rather than things that make me angry. That resolution has only become more important to maintaining my mental health as the things that make me angry, not to mention goddamn terrified, have accelerated. I hope it isn’t mistaken for a lack of interest, or worse, an endorsement of the things that are going on now.
