My little hedgehog, Pippin von Pipperstan, Fool of a Took, died last week. He was a grumpy old man and I'm going to miss him!
Today we went from labor and workers to opulence and extravagance. Don't get me wrong - The Breakers is a beautiful place. But, it is such a testament to all the worst excesses of greed and arrogance. And what did it get them in the end? I did spend quite a bit of time on the drive thinking of all the people who worked there. Went to the Museum of Work and Culture in Woonsocket, RI today. What a gem of a place. And so much love for those early union activists. One female activist was described as a "red flame of hell" by a priest. I aspire to that! #union #RhodeIsland #labor #museum #history

This was a nice and easy sandwich recipe. Today it was no-knead honey oat (didn't turn out as well) and chocolate chip cookies for the little kiddos.
I'm slightly sad because my 21 year old went back to college and so now there are only the two little ones (8 and 10) home. So I baked.
