I'm a retired, General Officer level U.S. Army Intelligence leader who's been in INFOSEC since the 1980s, when it was mostly mainframes & Novell. Certifications came after, when I was off leading in the PSYOP / counternarrative side of IO, so I don't have any & cannot claim to be any sort of technical expert--but I can still (in sha' Allah) talk intelligently with folks who ARE technical experts & help connect such discourse to strategic outcomes.

I'm also coming onboard as Associate Director of an academic Global & National Security Policy Institute, a Twitter refugee sold on the fediverse as the most resilient architecture to avoid getting co-opted by billionaires or governments, an observant Muslim & aspiring alim, and a senior EDUCATIONAL Technology scholar.

As I said in my old Twitter bio, "Yep--weird." :-D

@theradr.bsky.social it was useful/insightful in the Army. I used it to help new Soldiers understand that there wasn't shame in being afraid, and it was perfectly normal.

The version I liked was, "Bravery isn't not being scared: THAT'S INSANITY. Bravery is being scared witless, but doing the right thing anyway."

"We obliterated them!" -> "We seriously damaged them!" -> "We're evaluating the damage." -> "We don't know where their nuclear stockpile is." -> "Invest in the new big money Operation Midnight Hammer Memecoin!"

Judge to order Abrego Garcia's release but ICE plans to detain him

A Tennessee judge plans to order Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s release from jail while he awaits a federal trial on human smuggling charges, but he is not expected to be allowed to go free. Prosecutors at his June 13 detention hearing said that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement would take him into custody if he were released. He could be deported before he has a chance to stand trial. Abrego Garcia is a citizen of El Salvador whose mistaken deportation has become a rallying point for opposition to President Donald Trump’s immigration policies. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
