Qasim Rashid, Esq.Today is my 1 month anniversary of signing up for Mastodon. A few observations—after spending 13+ years on Twitter:
•The Mastodon community is kinder & more focused on lifting one another up than tearing down.
•Mastodon is learning from Twitter's mistakes by including accessibility options, incorporating an edit button, & not centralizing everything
•Engagement is not dependent on clickbait or outrage, but genuine positive content.
None of the above are absolutes, but overall, glad I'm here.
Eugen RochkoI don't want to just be posting about numbers like a clock, but the 2 million mark of monthly active users across the network is a pretty big deal. This is going big numbers! Shout out to all the server operators who are absorbing this wave.
Masto.hostCurrently Masto.host is experiencing the highest volume of traffic that has ever reached the infrastructure.
The service is partially degraded and I will be doing fast upgrades on the platform.
These can lead to partial downtime, errors and large delays in support requests.

Richard LittlerPeople grumbling that #Mastodon is slow at the moment... You just turned up with 1 million people in a tiny, rural village and you're complaining there's a queue to get into the only tearoom, which is run by gay pensioners Babs & Maureen as a retirement hobby on Mons-Weds. Relax!

I'm happy to say that I've now onboarded another iOS developer for our app, and we are set on making another update to the app as soon as possible. I've also onboarded the first batch of new moderators for this server.
