You might have noticed that I boosted a few---or maybe 50---toots about duly-elected Representative #ZooeyZephyr being censured, silenced and oppressed by the #Montana House today. For speaking truth to power. For protecting her constituents.
And I'll keep boosting those posts because everyone needs to pay attention to this story. This assault on #Democracy.
#Trans live matter. Right? Find a way to prove you believe that.
All, if you need proof that Feinstein's absence matters, look at today's vote.
The vote was 50-49, because:
1. Manchin voted with the GOP,

Montana Republicans voted to ban Rep. Zooey Zephyr
Why? She made the GOP feel bad when she called them out for “blood on their hands” for their war on transgender rights

Instead of being expelled, Zooey is still seated remotely and disallowed from debates
Her constituents will not have representation until her term is up

I wonder how her constituents feel about losing their full representation and their voice.
And so the attack on democracy continues.
In plain sight.
This picture is going to be printed in history books as a turning-point for transgender people in the US. The open question is, which direction will the turn be in?
I don't know, and I don't have ideas for what I can do, but we are on the cusp of big, scary changes that will affect everyone, not just trans people, not just minorities.
If you were waiting for a call to action, here it is. They just banned her from the MT House using the rules of decorum. What better metaphor for where we are?
