#Writing The Sword In The Sand (20k words). Completed Prince Of Ice Heart Of Fire (42k words) #Fantasy #Romance Novella WIP The First Waltz, may be a #ShortStory, may be another novella (Currently 7777 words)

Working on Elegy #TTRPG System and Avalon Setting. I'm going to be posting the angry stuff I can't say other places here. Here is going to be my safe space.

Banner Alt Text: A black and white snow covered mountain range. The center peak is split down the middle, and directly above the summit is a solar eclipse
PFP Alt Text: image of a human shaped heart, not your typical lovey-dovey Valentine's Day heart, made out of fire, beneath cracking ice.

Polyamorous

Sick again. Stomach is shot to hell. Spent the morning puking.

Nesting partner still hasn't bothered to pick up my syringes, so I can't actively start my injection HRT yet, so trying to keep the pill form down is... Difficult.

Ah well. I'm sure my hormones being all over the place is helping with how I feel as well.

I'm going to crash. And be miserable until time for group therapy later.

Who wrote 6500 words on their novel in the past 12 hours?

THIS GAL.

Is it good?

Probably not.

But hey! This is the vomit draft, and Legend of the Fallen Prince is now at 37k words!

For context, my NOVELLA that's with an EDITOR, Vomit Draft was 36k words (final draft, pre-editor, 43k words). So, my NOVEL is at 37k words now.

And it's not even a quarter of the way done.

Yeah, I'm #WheelOfTime ing this shit. We're talking, as far as timeline wise to compare the two, they've not even left Emond's Field yet (in this case, the City of Mal/the King's Blessing Inn).

Yeah, I'm 37k words in, and the main characters have yet to really even meet.

Hells, TWO of the Illustrious Seven (actually eight people, but eight is an unlucky number, see?) haven't even been introduced yet! And two of the ones that HAVE been haven't had a PoV chapter! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Can't tell I was influenced by ol' Tollers and RJ at all, can ya?! 😜

Couple that with how I write relationships, and it's pretty damn clear my influences from Robin Hobb are showing, and my magic system is CLEAR that Brando the Mando Sando's finger prints are everywhere.

That said, these people INFLUENCED and INSPIRED me. I'm not lifting or riffing or ripping off.

Well, maybe riffing on Tolkien a bit, since it's Norse Myth and Arthurian Legend...

Wrote nearly 3100 words on Legend of the Fallen Prince. Was an Ellacos PoV chapter.

Oh, who's Ellacos you ask? She's the last surviving Sea-Elf. Why does that matter? I'm glad you asked!

See, in the War of Eightfold Sorrows, the Sea Elves and and the Jans in particular fought back against the Kinslayer so fiercely to break his hold that after the war, the agents of the Kinslayer hunted them to near extinction.

Currently, there is one known Sea Elf (Ellacos), and the Jans live in hiding.

Yeah.

Hey, I never said it was a HAPPY story, did I?

Quite contrariwise! It's a dark, not happy story!

So with that chapter (chapter 10) it brings the wordcount to just under 31k words, and the main group hasn't:
Met
Left the inn
Got the main quest

Yeah... I uh... I read a lot of Tolkien and Robert Jordan. Bet you can't tell!

The story, if you're interested. Chapter 1 Summery:

It's been fifty-six years since he was flatlined. Johnny wakes up, flesh and blood. After a complex reunion with Rogue, the rebel learns the truth--his time inside V's head was no dream, but a borrowed life--and his resurrection came at a cost.

Elsewhere, Song So Mi gently wakes V from her sleep, helping her cope with her new life and the daily pain of a fully 'ganic body. As V prepares to meet the newly resurrected Rockerboy, Songbird, unbeknownst to V, plots a DIFFERENT reunion: One with Judy Alvarez.

The Afterlife - Chapter 1 - Diana2112 - Cyberpunk 2077 (Video Game) [Archive of Our Own]

An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works

FIRST OFF, I HAVE TO EMPHATICALLY STATE THAT OUTSIDEOF SONG SO MI, I TRUTHFULLY HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT JUDY IS BEST GIRL. She is my favorite LI in the game (not just cause I play FemV and River kinda sucks, either), she's a genuinely fun character. This concept is not meant as a slam at her, it's ultimately a slam at the concept of your partner leaving you while you're in a coma.

So my motivation behind it was, specifically in The Tower/Things Done Changed end, V ends up in a coma, and has all her Cyberware removed. That's bad enough-not being chipped in the Dark Future is... not great.

But worse than that, ANY love interest you have (outside of Kerry, who semi-hints he'll be back after he gets back from being on tour) leaves you while you're in a coma.

Let that sink in.

You're in a coma.

They delta.

Panam GHOSTS your ass, won't even take your calls. After you helped save the leader of her clan. No bigs.

Judy GOES AND GETS MARRIED. This one hurts the worst, since it was HER mainline that got Jackie flatlined and nearly got us zeroed in the first place, and we STOOD BY HER through all that, even helped the Mox/other girls take back Clouds. AND you were there when her damned output... well, did what Evie did (I KNOW you know what I mean /Dex DeShawn voice and if you DON'T know, well... Play the game)

River deltas the fuck out because he "can't look at himself straight," ya know, the guy you helped rescue his nephew and all that fun shit.

Kerry's on tour, and says he'll be back in a couple of months and catch up, it's left ambiguous as to what happens there, but I like to think that he actually keeps his word since ya know, it's FUCKIN' KERRY.

Anyway, as someone who's disabled IRL, that shit REALLY hurt me. Like, a lot (especially Judy). One of my big fears is a partner will leave me because of my health, or because they find me "less than" (V without her chrome)

So I decided to write a Fanfic exploring "What if Song went beyond the Blackwall after the Sun ending (when V blows up Mikoshi), recovers Johnny's Engram, her and Rogue find Johnny's body still on ice, repair the damage from when Smasher sawed him in half with his shotgun (YAY SANDY SPINES LIKE DAVID), and basically Slot the Shard?"

So story is set 2 years after Cyberpunk 2077's MSQ, Johnny is alive, and the whole thing is about Him and Rogue, Him and *V*, V and Song, and V getting to tell Judy how she feels about being left while she was in a coma.

AGAIN I CANNOT STATE ENOUGH JUDY IS (second) BEST GIRL, I LOVE HER TO DEATH, AND IF I CONTINUE WRITING IN THIS UNIVERSE HER AND V WILL BE GETTING BACK TOGETHER.

Wrote a #Cyberpunk2077 fanfic. I can't remember if I posted about that here or not. It was really fun writing it. It's post-canon (i.e. AFTER the main story), and combines The Sun/The Tower/Things Done Changed endings.

I'll speak a little more on it and my motivations behind it in the comments, because SPOILERS for Cyberpunk 2077 if you haven't played it (and I will be using the spoiler tag feature lovelies, don't worry)!

Been real sick lately. Tooth went bad, had to have it worked hot because Novocain doesn't work on me and no sedation dentist was free until the 29th.

OF FUCKIN' APRIL.

I do not recommend. Like, I've had pain before (been shot, stabbed, chemo, renal failure, heart attacks), that though? That easily is an 11 on that scale of 0-10 they talk about. And that's WITH my fucked up "Chronic Pain Liver Wither" scale.

My mom (may her name be spoken with scorn) says it's worse than childbirth (she's had 4 kids and a tooth worked hot), I don't know all there is to know about THAT, but she's had both experiences, so... Take it how you will.

Anyway, yeah. That sucks. 0 of 5 stars, worst AirBnB ever, do not recommend, will not be flying that airline again.

Sad (jokingly). Boyfriend could only name ONE of my favorite folk heroes (and not Zorro, my pre-transition Screen Name was "Diego2112," Zorro is basically the "Free Space" in bingo of my folk heroes 😜)

For anyone wondering, they are (in no order):
Zorro (Diego de la Vega)
Robin (of Locksley) Hood
the So Called Arthur King (Said with the most OUTRAGEOUS FRENCH ACCENT (that's a Monty Python's Holy Grail reference, by the way)

If I had to pick just one though? King Arthur. Sean Connery as King Arthur in First Knight had a line that literally changed the way I live my life:
"Hey, I take the good with the bad! I khaan't love people in shlises." (you have to type it in his voice, too ya know!)

And that's how I've lived my life ever since hearing that line. Genuinely, I can't love people in slices. I love with all of me, and love all of them. I know no other way.

Thus began my love affair with Arthurian Legend, and I've read it all. From Geoffrey of Monmouth to Sir Thomas Mallory to T.H. White to Alfred, Lord Tennyson to freakin' Chrétien de Troyes (who INVENTED the Grail Cycle), to Mary Stewart. I don't think there's a single author I've not read (though let's all just remember to stay away from Marion Zimmer Bradley's works, yeah? Friggin' sex pest), and if there is, I would love to know! (my list is NOT all inclusive, by the way!)

I've seen the movies. Some I like better than others. I've read the historical suggestions (I personally enjoy the idea of him being a leader in a Roman unit).

There's not a bit about the legend I think I've missed. In fact, in University, one might say I focused a bit TOO hard on Arthurian Legend...

My Elegy for Avalon system is based heavily around the mythos. The world the continent of Avalon is set in is based around it--King Arthur is IN it (hence, Avalon). The concept of him not returning is explained via this world--I just absolutely ADORE Arthurian Legend.

Anyway, yeah.

So who's your favorite #KnightOfTheRoundTable? Mine's Tristan.

Yesterday I plugged away on Sword in the Sand AND The First Waltz, simultaneously. Jumping back and forth between them as the mood struck me. I wrote 3770 words on Sword in the Sand, and 1420 words on The First Waltz, for a total of 5190 words written.

That is highly uncommon for me, I normally only plug 250-500 when I'm in good health (I am not in good health right now).

Feels good to have written that much!

(For deeper context, my finished novella, Prince of Ice, Heart of Fire, is only 42k words long!)

Okay, so. Let's talk about what my projects are, just so everyone knows:

The First Waltz:
Short Story/Novella (undecided) about Filtar Stricyx, a Night Elf Starwalker on his first jaunt across the Multiverse without an aethership (i.e. his first time "Starwalking," rather than aetherjumping). It establishes the concept in my multiverse cosmology of "The Endless Celestial Waltz," souls that reincarnate across the multiverse, bound to one another, in an infinite dance. Think the Read String of Fate. The first part of the Starwalker's Sorrow Trilogy.

Prince of Ice, Heart of Fire:
Novella about a Prince and His Bodyguard, set against the backdrop of a war between two nations, in which the prince tries to get the bodyguard to see she's much, much more than just a disposable tool. First time I ever tried to write a romance, and honestly? I feel like I did a pretty good job. The second part of the Starwalker's Sorrow Trilogy.

The Sword in the Sand:
Novella about Filtar trying to find peace, finding love in the arms of his former enemy, and putting to rest the ghosts of the past, while fighting to survive in a shattered, dying world, all while the two of them try and avoid and evade the Empire that LEFT the world ravaged. The final part of the Starwalker's Sorrow Trilogy.

In addition, there are a few short stories I'm going to be working on off and on involving Filtar with various OTHER dance partners not in the main trilogy.

Elegy TTRPG System:
A 3d6 Roll Under TTRPG system with a luck mechanic with the goal being "Everything You Need To Play Can Fit In A Cassette Tape Case." I'm working on the rules/mechanics/monsters, I have the Ancestry, Backgrounds, and Classes sorted. I've got the crunch of the rules mostly worked out. I mostly need to refine the magic system and come up with spells, a handful of monsters, and a handful of NPCs.

Avalon Setting:
The initial setting for Elegy, as well as the setting for my main novel (not novella). A fantasy world where the gods are active, Entropy is the BBEG, and the world is a sort way away from dying. "Fight on, until the Final Sunrise." It is not your normal "Fantasy Medieval England" setting. It is a very dying world. If anything, I'd say it's closer to 1st and 2nd Century CE Rome in places, while other places it has a decidedly Phoenician feel. Yet others still it has a Georgian vibe. And in OTHERS STILL it has very Bedouin overtones. It's not a universal world. It's very, very... I've spent nearly 30 years making it, yeah? It's complex.

So... this is the place to ask me questions about these projects, I guess?
