I remember 2016 when Trump was elected. Many of us Europeans felt that a deceptive candidate had succeeded in misleading a people we care about. And we felt great relief when Trump was fired in 2020, thinking that okay, the Americans realised their mistake.
But this time will be different. If Trump is elected once more, after everything he has done — a convicted felon even — the European view of the US will change.
Matthew SheffieldFascism is pure emotional negativity so to argue against it or to call the great leader fascist to someone who is in the thrall of fascism sounds like complete nonsense to them. It's as rational as proving a negative.
Most people are not able to process that argument. Which is why a positive message of what you or your candidate will do is more effective.
You cannot be more negative than Trump. But he cannot be more positive.
