Remnant of the ice disk from the bird bath melts on the crown of a chimney pot. #SomethingISawToday
Nice light in the studio this afternoon #WinterCold
I saw this when refilling our bottles at the organic milk station. The rain had almost stopped. I was listening to Captain Beefheart and thinking about my dear friend who died recently #SomethingISawToday
Something I've never done before #SomethingISawToday
This could be the start of something. #SomethingISawToday

I've a history of time-based projects. So, I'm posting some pieces from #BlackSquares365 where I created an 8" square artwork from scratch every day for a year. Each piece the same, very affordable £40. I called it "distributed art": lots of people can own their own piece and have a share in the larger artwork, an artwork that no one person can ever own and nobody will ever see in its entirety.

So here is "320", Posca pen on gessoed Aquafine paper.

Here's the mincemeat baklava I made this afternoon: fresh out of the oven and just honey drizzled. It's disgracefully sweet, but I guess it's the kind of indulgence that beekeepers get drawn to. Homemade mincemeat and honey from our bees #beekeeping #cooking #FoodNotArt #honey
Corvid Christmas wishes! The rooks from our local rookery decided to take a little evening outing before the rain returned. #MoreThanHuman #rooks #crows #biodiversity #wildlife #birds
I've tried to garden in the most #organic way I know for over 50 years, so making #compost has always been a part of that. In the last few years we have adopted #NoDig techniques with great success: less work, fewer weeds and healthier, more bountiful crops. The importance of compost has increased and after a lifetime of hit-and-miss, I'm applying science to its making. I'd been lazy about feeding the bins in recent weeks because of all the rain, but I did some remedial work and all's well now.
