So, you know that thing where people perform a feat for charity and that inspires others to donate for charity? Well, tomorrow I'll be doing that: I'm participating in the Nacht van de Vluchteling (Night of the Refugee), and I'll walk 42km during the night to inspire you to donate here: https://www.nachtvandevluchteling.nl/fundraisers/daan-wilmer
Proceeds go the Netherlands Refugee Foundation, and you can find out more on the website. Thanks for sharing and considering!
Ik loop mee met de #NvdV24!

Ik ga de uitdaging aan en loop op 15-16 juni mee met de Nacht van de Vluchteling omdat iedereen een veilige plek verdient

I'm not addicted to fedi, I just keep forgetting that my new account's instance is down and opening the app every five minutes.
(small instance and the admin is asleep - or at least, given the time at her location, I hope it is asleep)

Point is, it honestly doesn't matter what issue it's being applied to, the whole 'Those under 25 have underdeveloped brains' argument doesn't hold up any way you slice it.

It's often just an easy way of dismissing the valid perspective of younger people. Which isn't good.

@stefanie Oh no! That's so sad! I thought Germany was quite progressive, but (at least the government is) not as progressive as I thought.

I hope you can stay safe!

@stefanie wait, what? What law is that, that removes protections? It wasn't sneaked in with the Selbstbestimmungsgesetz, was it?
@vicgrinberg Sounds like a fun boulder!

Can you give me some dates on when notable instances gone down, like snowdin for example?

@MiaWinter Yes. Documentation is important, and any good addition (even a single character) helps it. I'd merge or give a good reason why I think the readme is better without that change.

Imposter syndrome isn't real. Imposter phenomenon is very real.

Imposter phenomenon is the combination of two things:
1) the belief that I know less things than others around me.

2) the belief that if this is found out, that I will experience harm from it.

In short, it's about psychological safety. It's a rational response based on the lived experience of the person feeling it, and their observation of how others are treated, it's not a shortcoming of the person experiencing it.
