I have been using and contributing to FOSS and Linux since 1992. While I don't do much on the coding side, I am always looking to help with planning, managing, or even marketing. I truly enjoy the FOSS and Linux world.

Thanks to the contributions from a number of community members, we now have language server support for our package definition files. Try it out in your favorite editor!

The end to the saga of #Budgie 10.10 development is near! We just put out Budgie 10.10-preview.1, intended for packagers (e.g. Fedora and Ubuntu) to start shipping in preparation for their releases next year.

Budgie 10.10-preview.1 is (as the name implies) a preview release and features unfinished components like Budgie Display Configurator, but still excited to ship this! 🎉

Also don't think about checking what Budgie Display Services / Configurator are written in. 😉

This was a lot of work, which a lot of people helped made reality, thanks to everyone involved!

As Clear Linux rides off into the sunset, a great option for its users to look at is Solus Linux which drew significant inspiration from Clear Linux in its stateless design and performance optimization. It also forked clr-boot-manager for a resilient and fast boot process. #Linux
Our server is down due to a stupid mistake. We're working on it.

The more I look into something like #Snap from Canonical, the less I like it. I am old school, but that isn't the reason. I understand the idea behind global type packages like #Flatpak, #AppImages, and even #Snap. I just hate the way Canonical has gone so heavy-handed on it, pirating apt cmds, and closed off the back-end. Just seems to be anti-FOSS. I no others disagree and that is fine. Just my personal take.

This time, we have #KDE planning some big changes on the desktop, we have #Wikipedia adding AI features here and there, and #OpenSUSE Leap 16 looking like a very strong proposition.

Tribalism is one of those things in FOSS that is just sad. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy. The good thing it is generally only a small % of the user base, the bad thing is they tend to be loud.
