Have you ever had one of those "rabbit hole" moments, where realization and fear perfectly coincide into a terrifying spiral? I got to experience it early in the pandemic, when people said over and over "it's only killing old people and immune compromised people", as if those lives did not matter enough to protect. In those moments, I realized that it would be an act of defiance to stay alive in this... In spite of everyone who will not fight to protect immune compromised people like me.

@jzs42069 Thank you for that. I can think of 10 other (demeaning, dismissive) comments I would have gotten in response to that, on other social networks. Mastadon is a good place. On that note, my ex used to say "are your legs nice" before we could have sex. Fuck that guy too!!!

@jzs42069 since I was indoctrinated into a female culture that said I needed to shave mine to be feminine, I have always shaved mine and now I feel slightly uncomfortable if I do not. So... No benifit, just society telling us who to be.
