@jonconnorton You sound tempted.
Tough choice.
My inner Eeyore thinks the UK is in a sinkhole with no 'Sunlit Uplands' in view,
but also thinks the US may be in the process of violently tearing itself apart.
I think there are better options to either.
Kind of wish I had gone that route when half-heartedly considering it way back when.

@jonconnorton A bit grim. I keep waking up and she's not there. One problem of being housebound is that we were each others only constant companions for many years.
It must be well over thirty years since I have been without a dog, cat or both, for more than a couple of months in total.
I think I made the right decision at the right time, but you know how tough that is. Part of the deal though. Oh dear.

(from 2021)

Me: Get your tail off my soup!
Herself: *Big eyes. hurt look* But you like my tail...
Me: *Moves tail off soup* Not in my soup I don't!
Herself: *Swishes tail over soup again* But, but, you like my tail...
Me: *Gets up to fetch damp cloth to wipe down cat's tail*
Herself: *Runs off to groom tail after unwarranted assault on her person*
Me: *Eats rapidly cooling soup anyway*
