@gruber just listened to the most recent Dithering and found it interesting. There was much discussion about let the Mac be the Mac and that it should look and feel separate from iOS/iPadOS. And in the past you have both praised iPadOS for becoming more macOS. I’m interested in why the distinction and if you think it’s just that you prefer macOS or is it something else?

Miles of text has been written about Apple Vision Pro and its many shortcomings, but I watched Wicked last night in the best 3D available on a screen bigger than any wall in my home from the comfort of my couch and it was glorious. And a better experience than my home theater setup could give me.

Which cost more than my Apple Vision Pro.

Attention tech companies: please stop putting USB-A on things. If your product has USB-A I will not buy it, no matter how great the rest of the device is.
Fantastic addition to a stellar lineup of radio stations. If you havent checked out Apple Music radio stations in a while it’s time to revisit. https://music.apple.com/us/station/apple-music-chill/ra.1740614260

@jsnell I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this yet (in reference to your experience using a keyboard in a visionOS environment) but there is a toggle in settings to only reveal your keyboard when your hands get near it or leave it always visible.
@anildash I remember getting an epic New Jack Swing playlist from you years ago. I just want to let you know if you’re not aware that the njs revival has begun in k pop. https://music.apple.com/us/album/supernatural/1750576829?i=1750576834

@atpfm it’s me. I’m the guy. You found him. I’m the one that loved the third gen, no button shuffle. My favorite shuffle by far. @caseyliss @siracusa @marcoarment
@hotdogsladies just listened to this week’s RotL and I was compelled to recommend a fantastic art documentary called “Tim’s Vermeer” that I think you’d thoroughly enjoy. https://boxd.it/6kba I found it fascinating.
Tim's Vermeer (2013)

Tim Jenison, a Texas based inventor, attempts to solve one of the greatest mysteries in all art: How did Dutch Master Johannes Vermeer manage to paint so photo-realistically 150 years before the invention of photography? Spanning a decade, Jenison's adventure takes him to Holland, on a pilgrimage to the North coast of Yorkshire to meet artista David Hockney, and eventually even to Buckingham Palace. The epic research project Jenison embarques on is as extraordinary as what he discovers.

@marcoarment @caseyliss @siracusa if you all have the time I’d love to hear your thoughts on next gen CarPlay after watching the new developer videos from WWDC. From a purely hypothetical standpoint does it change how you think about the platform? https://developer.apple.com/wwdc24/10112 https://developer.apple.com/wwdc24/10111

Of course the week of WWDC I buy my first Windows PC in over 20 years. Which I’ll probably put Linux on.
