We have just wrapped up a fascinating project with The University of Manchester. Working alongside a host of knowledgeable stakeholders mapping and categorising their web presence.

Alongside that, we partnered with the central content team to run a content audit of the main site, to understand which content is really working for their priority users.

This project marked an important first step in lots of exciting new work down the line for the university đź‘€

Don't forget, our service design breakfast club is this Thursday morning (7th May)

If you don't know about it, we meet every other month in our Brighton studio. Sometimes we have a speaker lined up, sometimes we have a hot topic in mind, and sometimes we simply go where the conversation flows.

Come an join us, we'll chat about all things service design while eating all things breakfasty, if that's your bag.

It's free, we just need a heads up if you'd like to come https://ti.to/clearleft/service-design-breakfast-may-2026

Our Senior UX Strategist, Alex Edwards, will be taking to the stage at UX London alongside Lucy Blackwell (Head of UX at UAL), sharing how we worked together to relaunch UAL’s design system earlier this year.

We’re proud of our ongoing partnership with UAL and that they’ve chosen to share that story on stage with us.

It feels like a full-circle moment. Alex first joined Clearleft as an intern & returned years later to work with us full time. Now she’s speaking at UX London. Pretty special.

Calling all morning people who also love to chat about service design.

Our next service design breakfast club will be next Thursday, 7th May. Expect coffee, pastries, and friendly company.

Whether you’re a seasoned pro, just getting started, or quietly curious, come along. No slides required, no pressure to join in. Just good people and good conversation.

It's free to join, just let us know you’re coming 👉 https://ti.to/clearleft/service-design-breakfast-may-2026

Pretty much everything we do in our day jobs at Clearleft goes hand-in-hand with organising an event. We've got project management, years of speaking and curation experience, with all the design and UX thinking we can throw at it. And that's why we've been hosting UX London for 17 years!

Check out this year's rather impressive lineup 👉 https://2026.uxlondon.com/

We had the privilege of working alongside @chrischirp a Professor at UCL, on uplifting the design & user experience of the Trump Action Tracker website.

The Trump Action Tracker documents how the trajectory & actions of the Trump presidency are aligned with an authoritarian playbook. The work we undertook helps update visitors with latest actions via news stories, bringing data into focus & making it easier to download data sets for research or reporting https://www.trumpactiontracker.info/

Trump Action Tracker | Keeping a tally of Trump's actions

Free and independent tracker documenting Trump-related actions using verified news sources. Statements & plans mapped to authoritarianism domains.

We’re still working our way through all the feedback and comments from WebDayOut, and we are completely blown away.

Thank you to everyone who attended, shared thoughts, asked questions and made the day what it was. The energy in the room, the conversations between talks and the ideas shared on stage are a reminder of how valuable it is to step away from our screens, come together and learn from each other once in a while.

We’re already thinking about what's next 👀

Tomorrow we’ll be gathering in Brighton with a brilliant group of speakers and a room full of people who care about building better for the web.

If you’re joining us, safe travels and see you soon.
If you’re still thinking about it… there’s just about time 👀

If you're looking for a good excuse to step away from your screen, learn something new, and maybe make use of that training budget before it disappears, may we suggest Web Day Out.

It's a one-day event for people who care about the craft of the web and it's happening next week!
