The funniest thing about “AI” is the prompts that stroke its ego. “You are a very senior programmer who is an expert on many languages.”

This is a core system app interrupting you, promoting a sale by a movie-ticketing company, to push you to go see the platform vendor’s new movie.

Why not just pop up random ads all the time, always creating new channels that everyone’s opted-into by default so you can never keep up with opting out of them all?

Oh wait, that’s already what happens.

Apple’s as bad as everyone else. They don’t respect their customers — we’re fodder.

They truly have no standards anymore.

Have you ever wished the browser would look at a background color and pick black or white for the text — whichever one provides more contrast? Now, the `contrast-color()` function in CSS does just that.

How to have the browser pick a contrasting color in CSS

Uhm, a new ChatGPT version just dropped and GeoGuesser is now a solved problem.

ChatGPT's o3 model can pinpoint a location from a photo, and give a pretty good deduction as to the point the photo was taken from. It's no Rainbolt, but any photos taken at or near your home, even with stripped metadata, are no longer safe

My bank is incredible. Today I received a message notification saying my mailbox is getting full. I look at it, and there is a total of 100 messages, all of them being sent by them: notifications, advertising, etc.

They are basically giving me a tiny basket, shitting into it, and then asking me to empty it.
