Dear company I visit often as any customer might.

I am a repeat customer. That means I am a satisfied customer.

It also means your three repeated attempts to get me to take a post visit survey are in vain. I am happy. I visit everytime I need to. You do not need any other information your survey may be requesting.

Please don’t abuse your privilege with meaningless invasive requests.

Believe it or not, there used to be wheeled medical equipment in hospitals through the 30s and forties that looked as streamlined while having that same’ WTF does it do?’ mystique

At least two parties know- what was ordered, and who it was delivered to. And YOUR bank.

What intermediaries has he found could sniffing and compiling and cross referencing?

In the 90s, I rented a car while staying with family. I think I only gave address no email. Then, you didn’t have to fill EVERY field.

Since that point, they traveled a lot, they would send ME an email about the car rental

They HAD to cross reference that data by other means to be wrong

Have you ever had a notification pop up as you picked up your device and forgot what you were going to search for?

Like any barcode, it could be tracked in a database. I suppose you could run a longer analysis., find out when a package is delivered. But ID the delivery person?

And it’s going to be random, accidental, or voluntary for that QR code to be read properly

@SKleefeld @jon_alper @beeps

Many delivery people have to take their own photo proof and text you the image these days. Or you can have a ring doorbell or your own cams do motion triggered surveillance for you, motion detection. I think Amazon deliveries to doorstep might instruct them to use Ring doorbells as proof of delivery.

But still not sure what the QR code is accomplishing. It isn’t always going to be triggering anything.

@SKleefeld @jon_alper @beeps

I’m not sure what the QR code does. It offers a website, but is it just tagging delilvery time on that site? It would bring up a link on a smart phone, but one can dismiss that. But that could log a time the QR code was read. A phone can accidently but doesn’t always catch that, and I ignore or avoid the things. I avoid payments or cafe menus that want to use them.

Not using Chrome, but Mobile Safari, but I find it fascinating how quickly Facebook knows about a Google search, from the ads Meta pushes at me.

@pabloniusmonk @dallasnews

I’ve bet they have wanted to use that as ad space FOR YEARS
