Dad's comment on #BabriVerdict

Judges kya 5th class maths padh ke aaye the judgement dene - "minus x minus equal to plus".

Two negatives se ek positive kaise ho gaya.

Unlike me he was convinced that verdict would be in favour of Masjid. He still is more optimistic than me.

The Telegraph nails it
@AudaciousQuest good to see you here Sangha!! :-)
#India #introduction I'm Nupur, qualified as an architect but now a homemaker. I strongly believe in a fair and healthy democracy. Politically left of center, born Hindu but not religious. Live in India. I'm here to follow sane people who have positive views to share.
As long as I remain suspended on the bird site, you are authorised to plagiarise my toots here to tweet there. You may give me credit if you so feel like, but that's optional

This is a historic day for the Hindu Rashtra, a narrow political vision built on hate, false history, and the use of violence to force adherence to majoritarian norms.

Indian top court gives Ayodhya holy site to Hindus

The land dispute has been bitterly contested by Hindus and Muslims for decades.

So much discussion on #BirdSite about who the authors are of the Ayodhya judgment.

Font preferences and formatting preferences certainly contain a clue.

The lead judgment is likely authored (or atleast compiled-in-chief) by Justice Chandrachud.

The addendum is likely authored by Justice Ashok Bhushan

So three findings emerge:

1. That the 1949 installation of idols was illegal
2. That the 1992 demolition was illegal.
3. No evidence that Babri masjid was build by *demolishing* a temple.

Who is the wronged and who is the wrongdoer again?

Will not let nation forget or forgive ‘Tughlaqi blunder’, says Sonia Gandhi, hits out at Demonetisation

Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Friday held the Modi government responsible for taking away livelihoods through demonetisation and said her party will ensure that the nation never forgets or forgives the “Tughlaqi blunder”

#AYODHYAVERDICT

🔹️Forcible placing of idols was violation of law

🔸️Demolition of mosque was violation of law

🔹️No evidence that the temple under #BabriMasjid was a Hindu temple

🔸️But disputed land goes to Hindus, while Muslims to get alternate land
