A grey muzzle in our circles who is both the direct alpha and the omega often glimpsed at wandering within the treeline, watching the camp fires blaze in the night as well as all those around them.

As always, I need to post more here (And over on BS as well).

@baralheia Man... making that retroactive would be one way to suddenly force most people off the net. What a wild scenario that'd be.

And as if the ram isn't driving up the prices enough, eh?

@tango You want Sleestak? Because that how you get Sleestak :)

@swiftfoxfire Hehah... I am too old to worry about all that extra pro bono work. I've been 8 and done for probably 10 years. I'm obviously on call 24/7, but that goes with the gig.

But yeah, enjoy your time off, take your lunch, use your vacation w/o guilt. They need to know when they need to hire someone else.

Maybe there's somewhere else that you can laterally pivot to within the general environment.

@swiftfoxfire That's 100% been my job for decades. Living in the crucible can be like being at a big rave and you attack it as you can enjoying what you can, but there are plenty who have comfortable pigeonholed gigs where they have 40% work and 60% R&D and training (Or vice versa).
That's never been my path, but I fully get how some thrive there.

Good luck with it all, just know where you fail is simply a reflection on how well the higher ups staff. Not your fault, it's a reflection on them.

@swiftfoxfire You pup, need a Letterboxd account. It's a fun distraction.
@tilton Nice.
Also not an electrician, but tell me, I see the ground connecting to the box. Is there a further connection to a pipe or some other grounding bar style connection to a true ground, or is that not necessary here?
@tilton Another disk that I picked up from that era was Orsen Well's 'The Late Great Planet Earth', which I saw in my single digits as well.
At the time, it felt similar to In Search Of, but man, as an adult, it's a trip. It's amazing every kid who watched it didn't become an evangelical. It's worth the revisit if you saw it as a kid.
@tilton I bought the full series on disk last year. I quickly found that I want to rip them all and remove the intros :) I was never annoyed once a day or week, but one after the other became grating.
Otherwise a formative series that I loved as a kid.

A wolf is now tracking you through all that celluloid.
