these are cats up for adoption at a connecticut animal shelter that's joined #artfight because they're hoping to get social media attention for some of their long term cases especially. which is incredibly sweet.
"center of attention" is Egg Roll, who has a liver condition but is very polite about taking his medicine, "golden years" is Garth, who is an eleven year old sweetheart with no teeth, and "survivor" is Google, who lost his eye to a very rough case of feline parvo but pulled through.
Movies I watched in June, featuring Clue and Night Moves and... that's it really. But also featuring a short rant about how to try to pay attention to the artifice of film, pushing against that natural tendency we have to think of them as "real"

The Fediverse is protected from takeover as long as we are spread out on many servers. If one server dominates, takeovers become easier.
Mastodon.social is currently 25.5% of the active Fediverse. This proportion is way too large and seems to be increasing.
Larger servers also tend to have worse moderation and are harder to defederate, threatening safety.
