I’ve had a great reading year so far in 2023! And the main theme has been reading books my husband recommended to me a while ago.

So now it’s time for the big one. The one I’ve been avoiding for a decade. His favorite book of all time that I’ve tried at least three times. This time, I have to get to page 200.

Time to start Les Miserables.

Me: Wow, not too many bad pain days this week! Haven’t been above a six for more than a couple hours!!

My body: We have you just where we want you…

Hoping tomorrow is better. #chronicpain sucks.

I made a top ten list of my favorite song from the ten latest movie musicals (including animated). The oldest is from 2016.

In six years, there have been 10 big movie musicals. Actually, there have been 12 because I made this list before Spirited and Matilda. And all of these have been great.

This is the new golden age of #musicals on screen.

On PA turnpike on our way to Ohio and there are SO many vehicles on the shoulder. Every pull off area has 3-4. The last one had 4 cars and 4 semis. Wtf is going on?

Haul Out the Holly: #HallmarkChristmas

Hallmark is leaning into the com part of rom-com this year and it is so fun! Stars two of my favs and it was legitimately funny. My husband saw part of it and even he laughed!

Great story, good use of the tropes and a ton of fun!

Steppin’ Into Christmas: #LifetimeChristmas

Lifetime is hitting it out of the park this year! This was a really fun and sweet celebrity comes back home after a rejection. Mario Lopez was better than I expected.

Loved all the characters and their family members!

The Royal Nanny: #HallmarkChristmas

Y’all, this wasn’t a Hallmark Christmas movie, it was a spy movie pretending to be a Hallmark Christmas movie. And it was FANTASTIC. It wasn’t good for one of these movies, it was a good movie. The cast, the plot, the relationships. All of it worked. I hope they do more like this!

Had to get an MRI today and the position killed my hip. Nothing is touching the pain and all I want to do is cry. I know movement is the best thing to do, but I dread each time I have to stand up. #chronicpain

Christmas on Mistletoe Lake: #LifetimeChristmas

This was cute, but the Christmas karaoke scene is very skippable. Extremely likable leads and a very cookie cutter plot. Nothing special, but I will watch any of these the lead actress is in because she was very charming. 6/10

Well Suited For Christmas: #HallmarkChristmas

This one could have been fantastic. I loved the female lead! She was ambitious, smart and amazing. The male lead was…fine. He had a deep story but they didn’t go into it like they could have and he was just so bland. It could have been so much better than it was, which makes it more disappointing.

Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this one, even though it’s one of my favorite premises and leading lady. 4/10
