“Nasty” should never be used to describe a woman. It should only be used to describe a hobbit’s pocketses.

the New York Times Tech Guild is on strike and asking you not to play NYT games or access the NYT cooking section in the meantime

however they have made a Frogger clone about getting strikers across 8th Ave to the picket line that you can play instead

First off, the #porn-and-#shitpost-#writer is going to talk about #democracy and #FreeSpeech. Who'd've thunk it?

Kamala Harris has shown repeatedly that she is a supporter of #FreedomOfSpeech, openly praising the "courage" and affirming the #rights of #protestors at her own rallies. While I'd like more from her, this is a sharp contrast from her opponents, who talk openly about shooting people who disagree with them, even their own party members.

We should oppose the people who endlessly use the #FirstAmendment as an excuse when challenged on the very foundation of the bigoted things they say, but fall silent when others are silenced.

These are the people who oppose real and serious #censorship measures, like #KOSA. These are the people who we can pressure when they don't.

...and let's be clear, it will get a lot harder to even publish #queer #erotica, or any #SexPositive and #Feminist literature under that regime.

Harris and the Democrats will protect that.

I kind of miss a thing I don't think any of us ever appreciated until it was too late:

Not using any part of my brain to guess whether an image I'm seeing has been made or manipulated by a plagiarism bot.

In hind sight, I realized I didn't actually answer the bulk of the question.

Any time I look at the draft, edits happen. I have to look at where I left off to get myself into the scene and write the next words so some editing happens there. I'll do a light pass at the end of a chapter.

Then when I finish the first draft, I'll convert to ePub and do an evening read on my eReader. At that point, I'm looking for how I feel as a reader and I always catch some typos or repetitious word repetitions ( 😜 ). I tend to catch flow, pace, and plotholes in this pass.

After making the edits from the previous step, I'll convert it TTS style to audio and listen to the draft while doing housework or whatever else I have going on.

After that, I do a close edit.

New 55 word drabble:

The straps embrace me
I tug against them to reassure myself.
He touches my thigh-
I jerk in response.
He laughs.
Fondly.
I accomplished nothing except to show him how trapped I am.
Restrained.
Helpless.
His fingers rise higher.
I squirm – wanting, needing.
He pulls away, laughs.
“Slut.”
His voice is sweet, loving.
He’s right.

New 55 word drabble:

She’s so cute it’s painful.
Her wide eyes.
Her slightly parted lips.
The blush.
The longing in her eyes.
She wants to know I want her.
Desperately.
I slide my fingers through her hair.
It’s soft.
I pull.
Her lips part.
I don’t stop until I hear her gag.
She looks up at me.
Adoring.

I've been experimenting with some 55-word drabbles lately, I'm going to start posting them here.

On the next Mystery AI Hype Theater 3000 live stream, @alex and I will have a good laugh at OpenAI’s recent claims that they’ve trained their synthetic text extruding machines to “reason”, actually.

In 2007, the National Library of Medicine published a report of a person who had XY chromosomes, developed breasts, a uterus and ovaries, menstruated regularly, got pregnant twice unassisted by IVF, and then gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Now, admittedly, this is a rare occasion, but if we are basing our arguments in science, we can't ignore outlier data when reaching a conclusion.

So my question to MAGA is: what gender is this person?

- Because if you say a man, then you admit that men can give birth.

- If you say a woman, you admit that genetic sex is different from gender.

- If you say neither, then you admit gender isn't binary.

- And if you simply refuse to engage with the question then you admit your argument isn't based in science, logic, or rational thought.
