Sold 14 hampers of my backlist books at my son's school fayre today; a tenner a hamper (with chocolates, a pen and a bookmark added) all proceeds to the PTA. It was fun but I'm knackered now! So much peopling and noise!
More book nook library progress last weekend. Made 61 wooden block books, thirteen books with pages, a bookcase and a fireplace (not featured) and papered the walls with tiny newspapers that say things like 'Titanic' and 'Pears Soap'.

Making good progress with the book nook. I've been using PVA glue which is a little frustrating as I need to wait ages for it to dry but I'm hugely enjoying making it. I am making the books now - by sticking printed paper around tiny blocks of wood. Four done, fifty-seven to go. Then back to the construction and decorating!

If you want to see Mastodon at its best, strongly recommend these options:
Android - Use apps Tusky or Fedilab
iPhone/iPad - Use apps Metatext or Toot!
💻 Computers - Log in through your server's website
Mastodon was designed for websites and third party apps. These are *still* the best ways to use Mastodon!
(Official app exists because new people were only looking for an official app in app stores, and giving up when they didn't find one. You don't need to use it!)
Spider plant babies for the school Christmas fayre. I have also had my arm twisted to sell hampers of my books - author copies - with all proceeds to the school.
Will now have nightmares about sitting there like a numpty while all the other parents stare at me and no one buys my books. 😬
A thread of ten writing tips for anyone doing #NaNoWriMo (or anyone not doing #NaNo! You can write any time you want).
1) Have an ending in mind. This is the number one tip I give when asked for writing advice. You don't need to plot out the whole book (I don't) but having a solid direction in mind will help keep you on track, and it's really invaluable for the kind of books I write - the kind that require you to drop hints for the readers.
I know crime and thriller writers who don't plot
