Max KennerlyGood. The whole concept of cash bail is that people should be detained pre-trial based on how much money they have, instead of whether they're a flight risk or a risk to the community. It's an indefensible system. It should be abolished everywhere.
"The Illinois Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld a state law eliminating cash bail. Illinois will now become the first state in the nation to eliminate cash bail when the new law takes effect Sept. 18."
