Like many geologists, I am convinced that extraterrestrial life exists.
But as little as we communicate with other species from our home planet, or even between members of our own species, I'm also convinced that mutual beneficial communication with "them" is impossible.
In spite of that, I still hope "they" will prove me wrong.
