I don't want to just be posting about numbers like a clock, but the 2 million mark of monthly active users across the network is a pretty big deal. This is going big numbers! Shout out to all the server operators who are absorbing this wave.

Currently Masto.host is experiencing the highest volume of traffic that has ever reached the infrastructure.

The service is partially degraded and I will be doing fast upgrades on the platform.

These can lead to partial downtime, errors and large delays in support requests.

Really sorry. Doing the best I can on my end. Hope you understand. Thanks.

People grumbling that #Mastodon is slow at the moment... You just turned up with 1 million people in a tiny, rural village and you're complaining there's a queue to get into the only tearoom, which is run by gay pensioners Babs & Maureen as a retirement hobby on Mons-Weds. Relax!

@esdin I am using Mastodon as a web app standalone, which I assume means it runs through my browser as a standalone app. I am really liking it. The right side of my mastodon is all the different feed types, settings, lists, favourites, explore, notifications. All laid out in a nice little sidebar

@cruzwriter I am truly hoping that with this influx of people, many of the newcomers are adapting to and having a good time with the furry elephant

@doloresquintana I would only expect that the engineers that are/were at twitter would be a hot commodity. Probably the only thing stopping them in the past was a good work environment and passion for the entity that is twitter.
