Unoxi continues to develop.

I'm currently working on creating different LOD versions of each region. As this is a contiguous metroidvania, I want the world to still feel cohesive from a distance, but not to tank anyone's PC.

Blocked doors that you can climb over. Railings that turn into ladders. Barricades that you could always just walk around. It's more than just blowing up a wall in a Zelda dungeon. You're exploring a world that is indifferent to you. That adds a depth to exploration that I find inspiring.
Every part of that age is designed such that making progress in exploration feels like you're not quite supposed to be there. Even from the start, you're told to pickup your KI device and then leave. Nothing is signposted to suggest there's more to see.

I'm sure a lot of puzzle fans have heard of or player Uru: Myst Online (Which I believe is now free to download and play). But one of the most inspiring areas in that game, for me, is the age Gahreesen (Spoilers to follow):

It goes without saying that I took a long break over christmas and new years. 68 tickets left (Hopefully).

Over its entire development I have complete 1193 tickets. I have 85 more to go, then the game is done (Right?).

This goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway: I am furiously against AI and generative AI and have never used and will never use any form of AI to build any part of any of my games for a laundry list of reasons that is longer than I want to spend time explaining.
